Video: Genetic Roulette Movie Trailer

If you think Genetically Modified (GMO) Foods are even remotely “safe” to eat, then think again! A book by Jeffry M. Smith–and subsequent award-winning film called Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of Our Lives will set you straight.

Smith’s book includes sixty-five health risks of GMO foods, documented in easy-to-read two-page spreads.

“The left page is designed for the quick scanning reader; it includes bullets, illustrations, and quotes. The right side offers fully referenced text, describing both research studies and theoretical risks.” [Source: Seeds of Deception]

A team of international scientists collaborated for this book, and film. To understand GMO technology or to learn how to protect yourself and to spread the word, check out Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of Our LIves. View the FULL FILM below, on YouTube.

Of course, eat as much ORGANIC as you can.  When labeled as such, ORGANIC is guaranteed to NOT be genetically modified! People are waking up to the dangers of genetically modified foods–hopefully NOT too late! In British Columbia, Canada yesterday the Union of BC Municipalities voted to ask the Provincial Government to BAN all genetically modified (GMO) foods from the Province. See UBCM can’t stomach genetically engineered foods for more information.

[For more about the book AND movie, see The Documented Health Risks of Genetically Engineered Foods.”

Video: “Creature Comforts Christmas” Part II [Aardman Animations]

From dogs in a dumpster looking forward to a “plateful of organic food” to Santa’s raindeers talking about “best presents,” this delightful animation will have you chuckling straight into Christmas! This short “movie” is by Nick Park’s Aardman Animations, and features “voices” from the British public.

Aardman Animations is the film and television animation company that produced the Wallace and Gromit series. Kudos to Aardman Animations! I’m still laughing!

Here’s the longer 24-minute “movie” version:

Video:  “Sirens of the Lambs” mobile art installation

Mix “cute and cuddly” with “totally disturbing” and what do you get? You get British artist Banksy’s “Better Out Than In” roaming art installation, now—and for the next 2 weeks–on the streets of New York.

The truck, a standard slaughterhouse delivery truck, is touring the Meatpacking District of New York City starting this week. Inside the truck are 60 stuffed animals (and puppets) representing pigs, lambs, chickens and cows.  The animals can be heard squealing and banging against the sides of this euphemistically named “Farm Fresh Meats Inc.” truck–desperate to get out!

This is what artist Banksy says about the mobile installation:

“This is a piece of sculpture art, and I know what you’re thinking, ‘Isn’t it a bit subtle?’ Here, the artist Banksy is making some sort of comment on the causal cruelty of the food industry. Or perhaps something vague and pretentious about the loss of childhood innocence.”

“The truck contains over 60 cuddly soft toys on the road to a swift death. However, in order to bring them to life, four professional puppeteers are required, strapped into bucket seats, dressed entirely in black lycra, pulling on an array of levers with each limb and given only one toilet break a day – proving that the only sentient beings held in lower esteem than livestock are mime artists.” [Source: My Modern Met ]

For real! Reservations are required but the food is all organic and all free for four-legged doggie friends. AND waiters serve the food! What’s the reason for free? It’s a clever marketing idea from a local London dog food company to raise money the Charity Dogs Trust. This doggie delight, Lily’s Kitchen, will be open for doggy dining (and tummy rubs) for the charity for TWO MONTHS. Considering the news has gone round the world, I’d say this fundraiser is likely a success!
