<description>I’d like to send a big thank you back to our many loyal Capers customers in West Van. Our store has been through many challenges over the last few years… The Hep A scare, competition from mainstream grocery and drug stores vying for a piece of the health food pie, and of course, the arrival two years ago of a giant competitor a couple of miles down the road. For those of you who stayed with us through all of that we are especially grateful.

The outpouring of love and sentiment from everyone since the announcement of our store’s closure has been amazing. This is the best work place I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. I will miss my co-workers and we will miss all of you.

You are as much of what Capers is as we are. Thank you all and continued blessings.

<description>The first time I visited Vancouver for more than just a day on business was in 1986. Yes, Expo year. I was staying in a downtown hotel and while the food was EXCELLENT I was craving something, well, a little more down to earth.

I had no idea what ‘Capers’ was, but I found myself at the beach in Dundarave and saw that awesome mural. I wandered inside and spent an hour trying to decide WHAT to have for lunch. I don’t remember what it was, but it was damn good ! and I was hooked.
